Highlights of Treasurer's Report (David Holborn)
-
Our income last year was £10,872.44. Expenses were £10,156.39. The accounts were audited by Dean Clarke.
-
There are now nearly 100 members and we continue to grow. Continual problems with non-payers and some members refusing to use Spond make the job impossible for one volunteer alone. Dean Clarke offered to help and was appointed as Assistant Treasurer.
-
It is important that all members use Spond for paying for training and league matches.
-
The Club now only accepts payments via bank transfer.
-
Playing in the leagues costs the club just over £4,000 per year. Training fees very much subsidise the league but not everyone plays in league matches. To correct the disproportionate costs of the league participations, the Committee has decided that league fees will be increased by £2 per match to £6. Training fees will remain at £4. The annual membership fee will remain at £20.
-
The league is important but it must not be forgotten that Rob (and others) formed the Club to allow older men to play football when they never thought they would again. We have members with illness and some are not as good as others. Training is important as well.
-
Lastly, non-payers of fees remain a major problem and the Committee will be asked to impose stricter sanctions.
David and Dean recommended that the AGM should adopt the accounts and they were unanimously adopted.
