Manager’s season round-up:

I would like to congratulate and thank every one of you for your valued contribution and participation playing for the 70s Yellows this season. I think you will all agree that team and individual performances have greatly improved as we progressed through the season.

 

The final matchday was remarkable. Losing to Southend was a blow. However beating Romford 1-0 was very satisfying and was without doubt our best performance this season. Every player played their part and we played as a team. Losing narrowly 1-0 to a very strong Grays team showed the level of commitment and bodes well for next season.

 

As always I want to make a special mention and thanks to our two subs Steve and Roger. It is not easy being a sub and they can never know how much game time they will get. The team cannot function without subs and I am sure you will all give these guys a round of thanks. Phil Isles has fitted well into the team and again his contribution has made a difference to the team.  

 

The Final Standings were

Wakering - 41 pts

Grays - 27 pts

Romford - 25 pts

EFWFC - 14 pts (GD -6)

Southend - 14 pts (GD -12)

Billericay - 3 pts

 

This proves the importance of the last day’s results against both Grays and Romford.

I would also again like to wish Mario’s a continued recovery and look forward to to his participation next season. Gentlemen it has been a pleasure being your manager this season and I now look forward to greater things next season .
